Bat Management
It is illegal to harm or kill bats in Ontario. And since they eat mosquitoes, you wouldn't want to anyway. They do not make good housemates, however, and their guano is a particular problem. It smells - and it can harbour mites and other nasties that you certainly do not want your family exposed to.

- Prevention: If you do not yet have bats in your home or cottage, but are seeing a lot of them around it and have concerns, CCPC can provide bat boxes and the guano needed to "season" them to attract bats to them. - Resolution: If you already have bats in your home or cottage, CCPC can relocate them, clean up guano and any other damages, and prevent them from returning. Proper placement of seasoned bat boxes is also highly recommended.

For Best Results:
- Be observant. You can assist by noting any points of entry or egress that bats are using. Do not seal them, however, as it important to ensure that all bats are out of the building before this is done.
- Be proactive. Established bat colonies in structures can do an enourmous amount of damage.
